Following the success of the first edition, applications are now open for the 2nd PRO-SLO PhD School, funded by EIT RawMaterials.
The program is intended for PhD students from all academic disciplines and focuses on the concept of Social Licence to Operate (SLO).
About the Program
The school consists of both online and onsite components:
- Online module: 9–13 February 2026 – lectures on the fundamentals of SLO, including policy, social, ethical, and environmental perspectives.
- Project work: 23 February – 27 March 2026 – students work in groups on SLO projects with online mentorship.
- Onsite module: 19–24 April 2026, Kassandra Mines, Hellas Gold S.A., Greece – interaction with stakeholders and development of methodologies for achieving SLO.

- Entry level: No prior experience in the SLO field required.
- Participation: Free of charge.
